Details | The highlight of the Event is as follows: The Hong Kong Police Force has been dedicated to combating all kinds of scams in recent years. The Eastern Police District launched Operation SHIELD last year to raise the public’s awareness of deception through various publicity and educational activities, and yet there are still victims of scams because of the ever-changing modus operandi of scammers.
In view of this, the Eastern Police District specially designed a “Anti-Deception” promotional truck which will travel around Eastern District to disseminate anti-deception messages and the latest defrauding tricks such as “WhatsApp hijacking” in different languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, Fujian Dialect, Hokkien (Minnan) Dialect and Urdu, so as to spread anti-scam information to different ethnic groups and stakeholders in the district. The Eastern Police District hopes that the high-profile publicity campaign will help enhance the anti-scam awareness among the public and prevent them from falling victim to scams. | |
