Details | The highlight of the Events are as follows: |
| In 2021, 19,249 deception cases were recorded, representing a significant increase by 24% as comparted with last year. The total number of deception cases amount to approx. 30% of all cases. In Eastern District, there were a total of 698 deception cases reported between January and June 2022, representing an increase of 59.7% (+261 cases) from 437 deception cases in the same period last year.
In light of the increasingly prevalent deception trends, EDIST launched an anti-deception operation named “Operation SHIELD”- 防騙盾 (the Operation) with a view to raising the public awareness of various kinds of scams for prevention. |
