Beware of Phishing SMSs Purportedly from ADCC of HKPF

Recently, scammers impersonating officers of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Hong Kong Police Force sent phishing SMSs with phone number +84 994 102 987 to members of the public, falsely claiming that they were at risk of falling prey to scams, and asking them to call a fraudulent hotline at 8192 9380.
Our Advice
The “Registered SMS Sender ID” of the ADCC is “#ADCC18222”. The SMSs aim to send alerts and provide ways for verification and seeking assistance. No hyperlinks will be attached;

Even if strangers who send you messages are able to tell your personal information, it does not necessarily mean that they are genuine law enforcement officers. Scammers can obtain the personal information of the public by unlawful means.
