The Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD) has produced a publicity video to educate members of the public on how to deal with suspicious unknown calls in order to avoid falling prey to scams, in response to frequent telephone deception cases in which scammers impersonate ImmD staff.

Our Advice

• Impersonating government officials is a common defrauding trick. You will not fall prey to it easily if you stay alert.

• Remind your relatives and friends to stay vigilant against deception. If in doubt, please call the “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” for enquiries.
