Beware of Fraudulent Messages Purportedly from SFC

Defrauding Tricks

Recently, scammers, impersonating the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)’s Chairman Tim Lui and Executive Director of the Supervision of Markets Division Rico Leung, sent fraudulent messages containing comments on specific stocks to members of the public via WhatsApp.

The SFC has issued a press release to clarify that those messages are all fraudulent and urge the public to exercise caution against scams.
