2024-01-08

Defrauding Tricks

Recently, there are scammers opening an account named “Hong Kong Adcc Anti-Deception Alliance of Non-profit-making Organisations” (香港Adcc非營利組織反詐聯盟) on Facebook with the logo of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) once again. They, claiming to be the Global Anti-Scam Association, published fraudulent advertising messages and purported to be able to help members of the public having fallen prey to online scams recover their losses.

The account provided a hyperlink with the name “Global Network Anti-Deception Alliance” (國際網絡反詐騙聯盟) as a guise for confusing members of the public and misleading them into believing that consultation would be offered for free, attempting to obtain their personal information, bank account numbers, passwords, etc.

  • Remind your relatives and friends to stay alert against deception;
