Beware of Online Concert Ticket Trading Fraud

Recently, the Police have received a number of reports of online shopping fraud related to concert tickets. The victims purchased concert tickets of a popular Korean girl group from online sellers on social media, but could not reach them after transfer of payment. The victims suffered loss as a result.

Our Advice

• Members of the public are reminded to purchase tickets through official channels and stay alert to dubious sellers;
• Recently, the Police have launched an anti-fraud search engine “Scameter” on the website of CyberDefender. Members of the public are encouraged to enter the seller’s phone number, FPS number, page name etc. to assess the risk of dealing with the seller before payment;
