Recently, there have been anonymous messages circulating online on crowdfunding launched for two dancers seriously injured in a concert to pay for their medical expenses and offer them financial assistance. Families, friends and colleagues of the injured have clarified that they did not launch such crowdfunding.

Our Advice

• Check the background of the fund-raising organisation and whether it has formalised collaboration with the beneficiary or beneficiary organisation prior to donations;

• Do not believe any anonymous online messages that ask for money;

• Do not input your personal information, bank account number or password, credit card number or security code into unknown websites;

• If in doubt, call the “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” for enquiries.
