Beware of Online Shopping Fraud

It has recently come to the Police’s attention that fraudsters cheat at groups of second-hand transaction on online social platform in the guise of selling used home appliances.

Taking advantage of the public’s support for environmental protection, fraudsters made fishing calls on groups of second-hand transaction on different online social platforms, claiming to offer second-hand home appliances at low prices. Buyers were requested to transfer the deposit via mobile electronic payment platform. To win their trust, fraudsters also claimed that transportation would be arranged for the delivery. However, no sooner was the deposit collected, than the fraudsters disappeared without a trace.
